Deesan Farms is a progressive form in Meenakshipuram area of Perumatty Gramapanchayath under Krishi Bhavan Perumatty. Here we practices mixed farming in this land with variety of crops and livestock, we mainly cultivate coconut intercropped with banana, spinach under organic system of cultivation and various cultivation of vegetables under precision farming system.

Coconut Farming

Coconuts, like many other perennial agricultural economic crops, are low capital-intensive, easy-to-do and life-long sources of steady income if done commercially in a plantation system. Among 36 acres 33 acres are fully of coconut cultivation and it all a country variety of palms (T x D) • Average of 130 nuts per year. • Average weight will be 520gms to 550 gms per nut. Own Coconut has been processed into copra for extraction of cold press coconut oil.

Ghee Processing Naturaly

Traditionally processed Cow Ghee Start with high-quality unsalted butter. It is important to use unsalted butter to have better control over the flavor and to avoid excess salt in the final ghee. Cut the butter into small pieces and place them in a heavy-bottomed pan or a traditional Indian utensil called a "kadai." A kadai is a deep, wide-mouthed pan with sloping sides. Heat the pan over medium heat. As the butter melts, it will start to separate into three layers: foam on top, clarified butter (ghee) in the middle, and milk solids at the bottom. Allow the butter to simmer gently. The foam on top will gradually increase, and you will hear a crackling sound as the water content evaporates. Continue simmering until the crackling sound subsides, and the foam starts to settle. The ghee will turn a golden color, and you will notice a nutty aroma.

Vision

Here we adopt scientific cultivation practices and irrigate Vegetable land under drip irrigation system. The soll type is red. Here we adopt a spacing of 7.5×7.5 M for our entire coconut garden. Regular manuring from the first year of planting is essential to achieve higher productivity. We apply 25 Kg organic manure per palm per year with the onset of south west monsoon, when soll moisture content is high. Different forms of organic manures like compost, farm yard manure, Panchagavya, Jeevamritham etc… mode use for this purpose.

Here at Deesan farms we practice Mixed farming and raising fodder and the same can support thirty five diary animals. The animals supply large quantities of cattle manure which when applied to the soil will improve its fertility status. This sort of mixed farming will improve the yield of the palm, Intercropping and mixed cropping ensures better land utilization, solar energy harvesting, efficient water use, utilization of soil nutrient resources, more returns and an insurance against crop failure.

Deesan Farms we adopt and undergone the techniques and methodology as learned at Art of Living Agricultural University, Bangalore.
